Remove suction valves and suction valve positioning springs from dowel pins. See figure 5-12.

(5)  Inspect the valves, valve seats, and valve springs for wear or damage. Replace complete valve plate if
cracked or worn.
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent (Fed Spec P-D-680) used to clean parts is potentially dangerous to
personnel and property. Do not use open flame or excessive heat. Flash point of solvent
is 100F to 138F (38C to 59C).
