CHAPTER  1 INTRODUCTION Section  I. 1-1. Scope a. These instructions are published for the use of the   personnel   to   whom   the   Trane   Company Models, MAC6H18-230-1201-01, MAC6H18- 208-1201-02 and MAC4H18-208-1201-03 Air Conditioners   are   issued.   Chapters   1   through   4 provide  information  on  the  operation,  preventive maintenance   services,   and   organizational   main- tenance of the equipment, accessories, components, and  attachments.  Chapters  5  and  6  provide  in- formation   for   direct   and   general   support   main- tenance.   Also  included  are  descriptions  of  main units  and  their  functions  in  relationship  to  other components. b. Appendix   A   contains   a   list   of   publications applicable to this manual. Appendix B contains the Maintenance   Allocation   Charts. Appendix   C contains  a  list  of  Basic  Issue  Items  authorized  to operator   of   this   equipment.   The   Organizational, Direct,  and  General  Support  Maintenance  Repair Parts  are  listed  and  illustrated  in  TM  5-4120-243- 34P   (when   printed). c.  Numbers  in  parentheses  on  illustrations  in- dicate  quantity. GENERAL 1-2.  Record  and  Report  Forms a.  DA  Form  2258,  Depreservation  guide  of Engineer   Equipment. b.  Maintenance   forms,   records,   and   reports which are to be used by maintenance personnel at all maintenance levels are listed in and prescribed by   TM   38-750. Note.  Applicable  forms,  excluding  Standard  Form  46 (United  States  Government  Motor Vehicle Operator’s Identification Card) which is carried by the operator, will be kept in a canvas bag mounted on the equipment. 1-3.  Reporting  of  Errors a.  Report  of  errors,  omissions,  and  recom- mendations  for  improving  this  publication  by  the individual  user  is  encouraged.  Reports  should  be submitted   on   DA   Form   2028   (Recommended Changes  to  Publications)  and  forwarded  direct  to Commanding   General, U.   S.   Army   Mobility Equipment   Command,   ATTN:   AMSME-MPP, 4300  Goodfellow  Boulevard,  St.  Louis,  Mo.  63120. b. Report   all   equipment   improvement   recom- mendations  as  prescribed  by  TM  38-750. Section   II.
