( 1 )  Turn selector switch to the "OFF" position and disconnect the air
conditioner from source of electrical power.

Loosen screws and remove l o w e r a c c e s s p a n e l .
( 3 )  R e f e r to figure 3-12 and p a r t i a l l y remove the control box and junc-
tion
box
from  the  unit.
(4) Refer to figure 3-23 and inspect the external area of the compressor
a s s e m b l y for leaks and other obvious defects which would impair serviceability. If
such defects are found, report the condition to Direct Support Maintenance.
(5) If no defects are found, reinstall the control box and junction box
i n a c c o r d a n c e w i t h f i g u r e 3 - 1 2 a n d i n s t a l l t h e lower access panel on the air condi-
tioner.

Test.
( a ) T u r n s e l e c t o r s w i t c h t o the "OFF" position and disconnect the
air conditioner from source of electrical power.
(b) loosen attaching screws and remove lower access panel.
( c ) Check for continuity between pins F and G of the compressor
electrical
receptacle  J3.
( 2 )  R e p l a c e .  I f no continuity exists between pins F and G of the com-
pressor receptacle J3, replace the compressor crankcase heater.
REFRIGERANT COMPONENTS

D i s c o n n e c t the air conditioner from the
e l e c t r i c a l power source before attempt-
ing to perfom tests or inspections on
a n y of the refrigerant system components.

L i q u i d Line Solenoid Valve L1 and Pressure Equalizer solenoid Valve L2.
Maintenance at the organizational level is limited to testing the operation of the
s o l e n o i d v a l v e s a n d s o l e n o i d v a l v e c o i l s .  D o not open the refrigerant system.
( 1 )  Turn selector switch to the "OFF" position and disconnect the air
conditioner from the electrical power source.
( 2 )  R e m o v e the lower access panel, f a b r i c cover and top panel from the
air conditioner. (See figure 3-9.)

P a r t i a l l y remove the junction box and control box. (See figure 3-12.)
