w o r k time figure in the appropriate subcolumn(s), the category of maintenance auth-

o r i z e d to perform the function listed in Colunmn 3.

This figure represents the active

t i m e required to perform that maintenance function at the indicated category of

maintenance.

If the number or complexity of the tasks within the listed maintenance

function vary at different maintenance categories, appropriate work time figures

w i l l be shown for each category.

The work time figure represents the average time

r e q u i r e d to restore an item (assembly, subassembly, component, module, end item, or

system) to a serviceable condition under typical field operating conditions. This

t i m e includes preparation time (including any necessary disassembly/assembly time),

t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g / f a u l t location time, and quality assurance/quality control time in

addition to the time required to perform the specific tasks identified for the

m a i n t e n a n c e functions authorized in the maintenance allocation chart.
