Step 1.
Yellow appearance of sight glass is caused by
contamination in the refrigerant.
Release refrigerant.

Remove dehydrator.

Purge and dry system.
c.
Install new dehydrator.

Leak Test System.

Evacuate system. (See para 5-15.)
Recharge with refrigerant.

Step 2.
Check for yellow in sight glass after allowing
compressor to run for at least 1 hour.
Repeat corrective action in Step 1 above.

Check expansion valve.
Replace if defective.

Check quench valve.
Replace if defective.
Step 3.
Check compressor for internal noise and loose
mounting. (See para 5-32.)
