TM5-4120-387-14 4-55.  AMBlENT  AIR  THERMOSTAT  (S2) Preliminary  procedure:  1.  Remove  junction  box.  (See  para  4-29.) 2. Remove condenser air discharge guard. (See para 4-20.) 3. Remove lower panel. (See para 4-24.) a. Inspection (1) Check thermostat for cracks or evidence of other visible damage. Replace if damaged. b. Test Figure 4-52. Thermostat Test Set-Up (1) Disconnect P10 wiring harness plug. (2) Using a multimeter set on lowest OHMS scale, check continuity at pins D and E on P1O wiring harness plug. Contacts  should  be  closed  when  the  surrounding temperature is above 50°F (1O°C). If there is no continuity, replace thermostat. (3) Tape the bulb of a thermometer to the thermostat gasket. Use a blob of thermal  mastic  to  improve  conductivity. (4) Place an ice cube to the face of the thermostat gasket. (5) When the temperature of the thermostat reaches approximately 50°F (1O°C) the contacts should open. 4-131
