5-18. Compressor Bypass Expansion Valve
a. General The compressor bypass expansion
valve functions when the air conditioner is in the
bypass cycle of operation. The valve modulates a
small amount of liquid refrigerant into the suc-
tion line tubing. This valve has an external su-
perheat adjustment,
factory adjusted at
(±1.5)°F. Access
to the
expansion
valve
through the top access cover.
