Tape a new wire to the outside of the wiring   harness   and   attach   both   ends   to   the components   from   which   the   defective   wire   was removed. (3)  If  the  wiring  shows  wear,  but  not  enough to expose the bare wires, tape the worn part of the wire  with  an  approved  electrical  tape. 3-33.  Power  and  Cable  Receptacles  and  Suction and  Discharge  Connectors a.   Removal. (1)  Refer  to  figure  3-5  and  remove  connector cover. (2) Refer to figure 3-11 and remove the power and  cable  receptacles  and  suction  and  discharge connectors. b.   C[eaning,   Inspection,   and   Testing. (1)  Wipe  parts  with  clean  dry  cloth. (2)  Disconnect  power  cable  and  inspect  wires soldered  to  connectors  for  loose  wires. (3)   Test   each   wire   and   connector   pin   for continuity,  refer  to  paragraph  3-32   b. (4)  Replace  a  damaged  or  defective  power and   cable   receptacle   or   suction   and   discharge connector  as  necessary. c.
