SPECIAL TOOLS, TMDE, AND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT

T o o l Kit, Service, Refrigeration Unit, LINW5362 is the only special tool required to
p e r f o r m direct support maintenance on the air conditioner.
Section II. Troubleshooting

TROUBLESHOOTING TABLE.
a .  T h e troubleshooting table (table 4-1) lists the common malfunctions which
y o u may find during the operation or maintenance of the air conditioner or its com
ponents. You should perform the test/inspections and corrective actions in the order
listed.
b .  T h i s manual cannot list all malfunctions that may occur, however, all
t e s t s or inspections and corrective actions are listed for most common malfunctions.
If a malfunction is not listed or is not corrected by listed corrective actions,
notify your supervisor.
S e c t i o n III. Maintenance Procedures
REFRIGERANT SYSTEM.

Nearly all operations for the correction of malfunctions found in troubleshooting,
or maintenance activities of direct support require that the refrigeration system
b e opened to sane extent. Refer to the following paragraphs: 4-5 through 4-10 for

PRESSURE GAGES, INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL.

a .  R e f e r to figure 4-2 and backseat the suction service valve and remove

I n s t a l l and tighten a compound pressure gage (suction pressure), (30

inches vacuum, 100 pounds pressure).
T u r n valve stem one turn clockwise so gage will register,

d .  B a c k s e a t discharge service valve and remove sensing element line of high
p r e s s u r e switch from service valve port by removing flare nut and tube.

I n s t a l l high pressure gage (0 to 300 pounds pressure).
