TM5-4120-375-14 THERMAL  EXPANSION  VALVE  (CONT.) LOCATION/ITEM ACTION REMARKS REMOVAL 2. WARNING All  refrigerant  gas  must  be  discharged  from  the  system  before  proceeding with the removal of the thermal expansion valve. NOTE Always  perform  inspection/test  and  adjustment  before  discharging  system to  remove  refrigeration  component. Thermal  Expansion Valve a. b. c. d. e. Discharge  the  system  in  accordance  with  paragraph 5-12. Remove insulation (4) and band clamps (5) from sensing bulb (6).   Carefully detach bulb and capillary tube. Remove  two  capscrews  (7)  securing  power  assembly (8) to the flanged base (9). Remove the power assembly, capillary tube and sen- sing  bulb. Unscrew valve. equalizer  line  (10)  on  thermal  expansion 5-50
