GLOSSARY
- Compresses low pressure refrigerant vapor from the evap-
orator into high pressure, high temperature vapor.
- Cools the hot, high pressure refrigerant gas causing it
to condense into high pressure liquid refrigerant.
- Prevents migration of liquid refrigerant into the
compressor in cold weather.
- Cools and dehumidifies air before it enters the room.
- Removes any traces of moisture from the refrigerant
system.
- Interrupts power to the compressor when the refrigerant
system pressure becomes too high.
- Opens or closes the liquid refrigerant line from the
condenser coil to the evaporator coil expansion valve.
- Interrupts power to the compressor when the refrigerant
system pressure becomes too low.
- Meter liquid refrigerant into the evaporator coil
distributor.
- A reservoir for liquid refrigerant which tends to
stabilize operation of the refrigeration system.
- Valves for suction and discharge when air conditioner
refrigerant is being tested and serviced.
- A diagnostic tool to observe refrigerant flow and refrig-
erant level.
