TM 9-4120-367-14 TM 075925B-14/1 s. Check  solenoid  valve  L1. 1.   Apply  power. 2.   Operatee in COOL mode with maximum COOLER temperature setting. Is valve closed when coil is energized? (HIGH SIDE pressure higher then LOW SIDE pressure?) and does valve open when coil is  not  energized?  (HIGH  SIDE  and  LOW  SIDE  pressures  equal- ized?) t. Check Evaporator Expansion Valve L1. 1. Remove power. Change solennid valve L1. 2.  Remove top cover, evaporator. Air conditioner is operational. 3.   Apply  power. 4.  Operate in COOL mode with temperate control at maxi- mum  COOLER. Does expansion valve outlet line feel cold? Air conditioner is operational. Check  expansion  valve  sensing  action. 1. Remove thermal bulb. 2. Hold thermal bub firmly in both hands for 3 or 4 minutes. 3. If inlet line starts to cool, replace thermal bulb and straps. 4. If inlet line does not cool, replace expansion valve. Is coding action effective? v. Check expansion valve superheat. Replace  covers. 1.  If valve does not provide 5.5 t0 6.5°F (-14.7 to-14.1°C) Air coonditbner is operational. superheat, change expansion valve. 2. Replace covers. Air  conditioner  is  operational. From steps m and r w. Check  temperature  control  S3. 1.  AppIy power. 2.  Set Mode Selector switch to COOL. Check Mode Selector switch. 3.   Set temperature control to maximum COOLER Is switch defective? Replace switch. position. 4.   Check for output voltage. Is voltage 25 to 31 Vdc present? Air  condition  is  operational. Replace  covers. Air conditioner is operational. y. Trace  out  wring. Repair or replace as necessary. 4-35 u.
