COLUMN ENTRIES USED IN THE MAC.
C-3.
a.
COLUMN 1, GROUP NUMBER. Collum 1 lists group numbers, the purpose of
w h i c h is to i d e n t i f y components, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and modules with the
next higher assembly.
b.
COLUMN 2, COMPONENT/ASSEMBLY. Column 2 contains the names of components,
a s s e m b l i e s , s u b - a s s e m b l i e s , and modules for which maintenance is a u t h o r i z e d .
COLUMN 3, MAINTENANCE FUNCTIONS. Column 3 lists the f u n c t i o n s to be
c.
perfomed on the item listed in Column 2, (For a detailed explanation of these func-
t i o n s , see paragraph C-2.)
d . C O L U M N 4, MAINTENANCE LEVEL. Column 4 specifies, by the listing of a
"work time" figure in the appropriate subcolunn(s), the lowest level of maintenance
a u t h o r i z e d to perform the functions listed in Column 3. This figure represents the
a c t i v e time required to perform the maintenance functions at the indicated level of
m a i n t e n a n c e . If the number or complexity of the tasks within the listed maintenance
functions vary at different maintenance levels, appropriate "work time" figures will
b e shown for each level. The number of man-hours specified by the `Work time" figure
represents the average time required to restore an item (assembly, sub-assembly,
component or module, e n d item or system) to a serviceable condition. The symbol des-
ignation for the various maintenance levels are as follows:
