Usually
it
is
only
necessary
to
wipe
or
brush
dirt
from
louver.
Dry  cleaning  solvent  (Fed  Spec  P-D-680)  used  to  clean
parts  is  potentially  dangerous  to  personnel  and
property.
Do not use near open flame or excessive
Flash  point  of  solvent  is  100F  to  138F  (38C
heat.
to 59C). Skin, eye, and respiratory protectionism required to avoid
injury to personnel.
(2)  If  louver  is  extremely  dirty,  immerse  in  a
detergent
solution  or  dry  cleaning  solvent  (Fed  Spec  P-D-680).
(3)  Agitate  until  dirt  is  removed,
using
a
soft
brush
if
necessary  to  loosen  caked-on  dirt.
(4)
Rinse
in
clean
water
or
clean
dry
cleaning
solvent.

Dry
thoroughly.

Check  the  louver  for  general  condition.
Bent
louvers  can  usually  be  straightened  with  the  fingers.
Refer
requirements  for  further  repair  or  replacement  to  direct  support
maintenance.
