Check the expansion valve and clean or replace

Replace sight glass.
Remove the burned out compressor and install
the replacement.
Evacuate the system.
Recharge the system and put in operation.
Check pressure drop across the new suction dri-
er after 1 hour of operation. Change, if neces-
sary, and evacuate system.
After 8 to 24 hours of operation, change suction
drier/filter. Check odor and color of oil. Evacuate
system.
After 14 days of operation, check color acidity of
oil. If required, change drier/filter. Before clean
up is completed, it is essential that oil is clean
and no acid is present.
