ACTION
LOCATION/ITEM
Disconnect air conditioner power
source before doing maintenance
work on the electrical system.
Inspect
Inspect plug for bent pin, loose
wires, etc.
Testing
Turn the motor shaft by hand
a.
and listen for clicking sounds
that indicate bad bearings.
b.
If the shaft cannot be rotated,
the bearings may have seized.
Test the thrust bearings by
c.
attempting to push and pull
the motor shaft axially.
d.
If end play is excessive (i.e.
can be felt manually in push-
pull), the thrust bearings or
shims are worn beyond limits
and should be replaced.
If fails test, notify direct
e.
support maintenance personnel.
