INITIAL SETUP Applicable   Configurations: All Test Equipment: None Special  Tools: None Materials/Parts: Charging Manifold Safety Glasses Nitrogen (Cylinder) Tools (Paragraph 3.1) Thermal  Gloves Equipment  Descriptions: Power OFF; removed from shelter Special Environmental Conditions: None General Safety Instructions: See WARNING page References: None Troubleshooting   References: None Personnel  Required: Direct  Support Location/Item Action Remarks NOTE In accordance with the Environmen- tal Protection Agency regulations, re- frigerants cannot be purged into the atmosphere.  A  refrigerant  recovery/ recycling unit must be used whenev- er discharging the refrigerant system. Operation of the recovery/recycling unit must be by AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL  ONLY. Purge a.  Release refrigerant charge in accordance with Paragraph 6.4 paragraph 6.4. b.  Attach middle hose from charging manifold to dry nitrogen cylinder valve. c.  Connect hose from charging manifold low side to suction charging valve. d.  Open both charging valves. 6-16
