CONNECT POWER SOURCE
CAUTION
For safe operation, be sure a ground wire (at least No. 8 AWG) is connected to the
unit ground connection and a ground source.
CAUTION
Make sure the mode selector switch and circuit breaker are in the OFF
position.
1. Connect a compatible air conditioner power cable to a 208 V ac, 50/60 Hz, three phase power source (S9160-18KH-
3 unit) or 230 V ac, single phase, 50/60 Hz (S9150-18KH-1 unit).
NOTE
The J2 connector is the main power input connecter. The J1 connector at the back of
the unit is the ALTERNATE input connector. To use the J1 ALTERNATE
connector, the TB1 connections must be shifted from J2 to J1. Refer to wiring
schematic (WP 0038 00).
2. To change to the J1 ALTERNATE power input connector for the S9150-18KH-1 unit, perform the following:
a.
Turn off the circuit breaker at the back of the unit.
b.
Disconnect the power source if connected.
c.
Partially remove the junction box assembly from the unit (WP 0028 00).
d.
Remove two lock nuts and marker strip from terminal board TB1.
e.
Disconnect black wire from CB-A1 to TB1-1 at TB1-1 and reconnect it at TB1-4.
f.
Disconnect red wire from CB-A2 to TB1-2 at TB1-2 and reconnect it at TB1-5.
g.
Install marker strip over terminal board TB1 and secure with two lock nuts.
h.
Install junction box assembly into unit (WP 0028 00).

To change to the J1 ALTERNATE power input connector for the S9160-18KH-3 unit, perform the following:
a.
Turn off the circuit breaker at the back of the unit.
b.
Disconnect the power source if connected.
c.
Partially remove the junction box assembly from the unit (WP 0028 00).
d.
Remove two lock nuts and marker strip from terminal board TB1.
e.
Disconnect black wire from CB-A1 to TB1-1 at TB1-1 and reconnect it at TB1-4.
f.
Disconnect red wire from CB-A2 to TB1-2 at TB1-2 and reconnect it at TB1-5.
