6. Remove top-middle panel (WP 0013, Remove).
7. Loosen three alternator mounting bolts (Figure 4, Items 1 and 2) and self-locking nut (Figure 4, Item 3) enough
that the alternator (Figure 4, Item 4) is free to pivot. Do not remove at this time.
8. Screw alternator adjusting bolt (Figure 4, Item 5) counterclockwise until tension is off V-Belt (Figure 4, Item 6).
9. Push alternator (Figure 4, Item 4) downward to loosen alternator V-belt (Figure 4, Item 6).
10. Remove self-locking nut (Figure 4, Item 3) and spacer (Figure 4, Item 7) from shaft tensioner (Figure 4, Item 8)
mounted on adjusting arm (Figure 4, Item 9). Discard self-locking nut.
11. If necessary, remove adjusting bolt (Figure 4, Item 5), washer (Figure 4, Item 16), and shaft tensioner (Figure 4,
Item 8) from adjusting arm (Figure 4, Item 9).
12. Remove alternator lower mount bolt (Figure 4, Item 1), washer (Figure 4, Item 10), lock washer (Figure 4, Item
11), and nut (Figure 4, Item 12). Discard lock washer.
13. Remove mounting bolt (Figure 4, Item 2), two washers (Figure 4, Item 13), self-locking nut (Figure 4, Item 14),
and adjusting arm (Figure 4, Item 9) from mount (Figure 4, Item 15). Discard self-locking nut.
14. Remove alternator V-belt (Figure 4, Item 6) from alternator pulley (Figure 4, Item 17).
15. Loosen left and right bolts (Figure 4, Item 18), spread bracket (Figure 4, Item 19) away from bolts, and re-
tighten bolts.
