(d) Check the pressure regulator valve and the dehydrator for leaks
i n accordance with the procedures given in paragraph 4-4c. Repair any leaks found in
a c c o r d a n c e with paragraph 4-4d.
(e) Refer to figure 4-4 and evacuate the refrigerant system.
(f) Charge the system with refrigerant in accordance with the pro-
cedures given in paragraph 4-10.
P r e s s u r e Relief Valve

( 1 ) I ns p e c t i o n .
(a) Refer to figure 3-12 and partially remove the junction box.
(b) Refer to figure 3-22 and remove the RFI filter panel to provide
access to the pressure relief valve.
(c) Refer to figure 4-12 and inspect the pressure relief valve ex-
ternally for obvious defects and/or damage which would impair serviceability.
( 2 ) R e p l a c e . I f damage or defects are found w h i c h would impair service
a b i l i t y o f t h e p r e s s u r e r e l i e f v a l v e . r e p l a c e t h e v a l v e . R e f e r to steps (3) and (4)
f o r removal of defective valve and installation of a new v a l v e .
( 3 ) Removal.
( a ) R e f e r t o f i g u r e 4 - 2 a n d r e l e a s e r e f r i g e r a n t from the system.
( b ) Refer to figure 4-12 and remove t h e p r e s s u r e r e l i e f v a l v e .
(4) Installation.
CAUTION
U s e care in applying leak lock to the
t h r e a d s of the pressure relief valve
s o that none of the material gets in-
s i d e the refrigerant system when the
valve is installed.
( a ) Apply leak lock (NSN 8030-00-999-6313) or equivalent, to the
threads of the pressure relief valve.
(b) Install the pressure relief valve by screwing it into the fitt-
i n g at the base of the dehydrator.
( c ) Perform any further maintenance of refrigerant system compments
--
which may be required.
( d ) P u r g e t h e refrigerant system in accordance with the procedures
g i v e n in paragraph 4-8.
