1. Loosen and remove two lock nuts (Figure 1, Item 2) and two flat washers (Figure 1, Item 1) securing two L-bolts
(Figure 1, Item 8) to battery box clamp (Figure 1, Item 10) on the MTRCS.
2. Remove two L-bolts (Figure 1, Item 8) from battery box clamp (Figure 1, Item 3) and battery pan (Figure 1, Item
7) on the MTRCS.
3. Remove battery box clamp (Figure 1, Item 3) on the MTRCS.
4. Remove battery box cover (Figure 1, Item 4) the MTRCS.
5. On control panel (Figure 2, Item 1) of the MTRCS, place POWER DOWN/ON switch (Figure 2, Item 2) to
DOWN position.
CAUTION
Make sure that the positive (+) jumper cable goes to the positive battery post and that
the negative (-) ground jumper cable goes to the negative post, or non-painted metal
ground. If cables are connected wrong, damage to electrical components may result.
6. Connect one end of positive (+) jumper cable (Figure 2, Item 3) to positive (+) post of dead MTRCS 12 VDC
battery (Figure 2, Item 5).
7. Connect opposite end of positive (+) jumper cable (Figure 2, Item 3) to positive (+) post of charged 12 VDC
battery (Figure 2, Item 4).
8. Connect one end of negative (-) jumper cable (Figure 2, Item 6) to negative (-) post of charged 12 VDC battery
(Figure 2, Item 5)
9. Remove condenser top panel (WP 0013, Replace).
WARNING
Avoid placing the negative (-) jumper cable directly on the dead 12 VDC battery
to minimize the chance for explosions. Use the ground post on the dead 12 VDC
battery as a last resort only.
NOTE
There may be a small spark once the ground circuit is completed between the
two batteries.
10. Connect opposite end of negative (-) jumper cable (Figure 2, Item 6) to a solid, non-painted, metal part of
refrigeration unit engine (Figure 2, Item 7) on the MTRCS.
