12. Install replacement positive (+) battery cable (Figure 3, Item 2) and secure positive (+) battery terminal lug
(Figure 3, Item 9) to engine starter (Figure 3, Item 10) using one washer (Figure 3, Item 12) and nut (Figure 3,
Item 11).
13. Install negative (-) battery cable (Figure 3, Item 1) and secure four negative (-) battery terminal lugs (Figure 3,
Item 6) to refrigeration unit frame using one washer (Figure 3, Item 8) and nut (Figure 3, Item 7).
14. Install clamp (Figure 3, Item 14) and bolt (Figure 3, Item 13).
15. Install opposite end of positive (+) battery cable (Figure 3, Item 2) with three wires to battery (Figure 3, Item 4)
at battery positive (+) terminal (Figure 3, Item 5).
16. Install opposite end of negative (-) battery cable (Figure 3, Item 1) to battery (Figure 3, Item 4) at battery
negative (-) terminal (Figure 3, Item 3).
17. Install tie wraps as required to secure battery cables (Figure 3, Item 1 and Item 2) and close access panel.
18. Install access cover (Figure 2, Item 4) to right-side panel (Figure 2, Item 5) and secure using seven screws
(Figure 2, Item 1), new lock washers (Figure 2, Item 2), and washers (Figure 2, Item 3).
19. Install battery box cover (WP 0053, Install).
20. Operate refrigeration unit in accordance with normal operating procedures to verify proper operation after
replacement of battery cables (TM 10-8415-222-10, Operating Procedures).
21. Place MTRCS back into desired mode of operation (TM 10-8415-222-10, Operating Procedures).
