WARNING
Fan blades are sharp and can cut. Use gloves when handling fan blades to avoid
injury.
NOTE
Before removing fan, mark fan blade to note which side of the blade faces the motor
for installation.
19. Loosen two condenser fan setscrews (Figure 4, Item 1) from condenser fan collar (Figure 4, Item 2).
CAUTION
The radiator coils damage easily. In order to remove the standby motor, the fan will
have to rest inside the radiator housing against the coils until the standby motor is
removed. Use extreme care so as not to damage the radiator coils.
20. Gently slide condenser fan (Figure 4, Item 3) forward until it stops against radiator coils.
NOTE
It will be necessary to rotate fan blade to clear radiator housing.
21. Remove two short and two long bolts (Figure 4, Item 6) (note location) and washers (Figure 4, Item 7) securing
standby motor bracket assembly (Figure 4, Item 12) to refrigeration unit chassis (Figure 4, Item 8).
22. Attach hoist and eye bolt (Figure 4, Item 9) to standby motor and lift motor slightly to allow it to slide back until
standby motor pulley (Figure 4, Item 5) end rests against the refrigeration unit back wall.
NOTE
At this time, the condenser fan can be completely removed from the standby motor
shaft by sliding it further forward on shaft until removed. Inspect blades for damage
radiator housing.
23. Remove condenser fan (Figure 4, Item 3) from standby motor shaft (Figure 4, Item 10).
24. Slowly raise standby motor assembly (Figure 4, Item 11) and rotate until motor shaft points upward from
condenser.
